Uni Organics Skincare Review
I love the idea of travel or starter kits. Not only are they the perfect size for travel, but are a cost effective way of sampling products before committing to buy the full size. Uni Organics have 7 different face and body skincare starter sets to choose from, I recently sampled their Luxe Travel Set containing 5 every day essentials. Ranging from 10ml-30ml the products are generously sized, giving you ample time to try each product thoroughly before making a full commitment to buy.
Now that I’ve almost hit empty, I thought it was time to share my thoughts on how they performed. And because there’s quite a few products to get through, I’m going to keep it short.
A gel cleanser that lathers into a rich cream, this cleanser is perfect for dry and sensitive skin. It removes makeup and dirt effectively, however eye makeup may need a second dose to be completely removed. Infused with frangipani extract, Kakadu Plum, aloe vera and natural oils, it reduces inflammation and prevents the skin from over drying. The only downfall may be the scent. As pretty as it smells, it may be a little overpowering for some.
It’s hard to find balance with a day cream. Some aren’t hydrating enough, while others offer too much, leaving you with oil build up by the end of the day. Somehow, this cream has found the perfect balance for my skin. With a gel like feel, it applies to a silky smooth finish and keeps me hydrated all day without the oily residue. One of my favourite products from the set.
I’m not a huge fan of face scrubs. Mainly because I can’t control my urge to scrub the hell out of my skin, but also because some contain microbeads and others contain natural particles that are usually sharp and can easily damage the skin. However, if you are a fan of exfoliators, this one may be worth a try. Its creamy texture is soft on the skin and the scrub particles are quite small, leaving minimal risk of damaging the skin. Packed with natural ingredients such as Kakadu Plum and Wild Rosella, it also offers a hit of vitamin c and antioxidants.
With the addition of shea butter and liquorice root extract, this serum is like a heavy duty version of their day cream. Used at night, it supplies anti-ageing and rich moisturising effects to your skin while you sleep. It gave me an instant glow, without the oiliness.
Infused with moisturising oils, you’d expect this lip conditioner to leave your lips looking blindingly shiny. Surprisingly, it doesn’t. Dry, cracked lips will soak up the goodness, leaving you with hydrated lips minus the shine. The hint of mint is also a nice touch too.
Overall, I was really happy with this skincare set. Aside from some of the products having quite a strong scent, I really can’t find anything to complain about. Australian made, cruelty free and certified organic since 1974.. I can’t believe I haven’t tried this brand sooner!
